Float Glass The Importance Of The Melting Process

The feeding pool is located at the starting end of the melting kiln, and is a rectangular koike protruding from the kiln pool. The feeding nozzle comprises a charging tank and a upper retaining wall (front face wall), and the mixture is poured into the kiln from the feed mouth.

Feeding is one of the important processes in the melting process, it relates to the melting speed of the mixture, the hot spot of the melting zone and the stability of the bubble boundary, which will affect the product quality and output. Because of the large melting amount of float glass furnace, the charging tank is arranged at the front end of the melting pool by using the horizontal flame tank kiln. The size of the feeding tank with the size of the melting pool, the state of the mixture, the feed method and the number of feeder. The state of the mixture is powdery, granular and slurry (at present the powder is generally used) and the feeding method is determined by the selected feeder, which has a spiral, ridge type, roller type, reciprocating type, wrapping type, electromagnetic vibrating type and oblique blanket type, etc.

With the increasing of the feeding pool width, the large-scale inclined blanket feeder is also produced, the melting pool and the width of the feeding pool are all in the 11m melting kiln, and the two oblique blanket feeder can meet the production and technical requirements.

Two Melting Department

The melting part of the float glass furnace is the part of the melting of the mixture and the clarification and homogenization of the glass solution. The melting part is composed of the melting zone and the clarifying area, and the upper and lower chamber is divided into the top flame space and the bottom kiln pool. The upper space is also called the Flame space, which is filled with flame space by the front face wall, the glass liquid surface, the kiln arch and the chest wall of the kiln wall; the lower pool kiln consists of a pool bottom and a pool wall. In other words, the function of the melting zone is to form the glass liquid by physical and chemical reaction at high temperature, and the function of the clarifying area is to make the bubbles in the glass liquid of the formation quickly and completely discharged, and to achieve the glass liquid quality required for production.
